What we do

The practice

Environmental consultants write the green belt chapter of your clearance and move on. Landscapers plant without reading it. The work in between — establishing what you actually owe, planting something that survives, and proving it half-yearly for years afterwards — is what we do.

Stage one

01

Obligation assessment

We establish, in writing, how much green belt your project is actually required to have — reconciling the 2025 memorandum, your environmental clearance conditions and your state board's consent conditions, which frequently disagree.

Stage two

02

Green belt design

We design a belt that satisfies the area requirement and actually attenuates pollution — multi-tier, permeable, aligned to the prevailing wind, and planted with species suited to your agro-climatic zone and pollutant load.

Stage three

03

Plantation

We deliver the planting through vetted contractors and nurseries, to the species schedule and density the design specifies, with every sapling recorded against its position.

What this involves →

Ongoing

04

Maintenance and compliance reporting

We maintain the belt through the aftercare period and produce the half-yearly reports your board and the regional office expect — because survival, not planting, is what gets audited.

How we are set up

Green Belt India is a practice of AgPro Consulting Private Limited (CIN U70200DL2025PTC450905), working from Pune and Delhi.

Planting and maintenance are delivered through a vetted contractor and nursery network rather than in-house crews. We say so plainly because it affects how we work: our value is in specifying correctly and holding delivery to that specification, not in owning trucks.

Common questions

What does a green belt compliance practice actually do?

Four things, in sequence. It establishes how much green belt a project is legally required to have by reconciling the environmental clearance conditions with the state board's consent conditions. It designs a belt that satisfies that requirement and actually attenuates pollution. It delivers the planting to that specification. Then it maintains the belt and produces the half-yearly compliance reports through the aftercare period, which under the 2025 memorandum runs at least five years.

Do you prepare environmental impact assessment reports?

No. Preparing an EIA requires a NABET-accredited consultant organisation. We work on the green belt obligation itself — establishing it, designing it, delivering it and evidencing it — which is the part that continues long after the clearance is granted and the consultant has moved on.

Send your consent letter and clearance conditions and we will tell you what you owe, and what it costs to close the gap.
